"Bugun Zuciyar Masoya" which is translated as either "the heart beat of lovers" or "lovers' heart beat" is one of the Kannywood series that its first scene or rather the opening of the story made me pick up my TV remove control and rewind it more than two times to make sure I carefully listen to every word and sentence. The dialogue is epic, which sounds more real than a movie. The setting and characterisation are undeniably appraising.
This is a fairytale love story that portrays the reality of the existence and transformation of love from a dream into the real world. Sadik, who resides in Borno, the capital of Maiduguri state and is glued to someone who wants to woo his love by all means had a dream with Minal, a gorgeous example of an African beauty whose residence is in Kano state and is about to get engage with her lover of life. In the dream, they are seen as two souls whose hearts beat magically at the same time and they exchanged their rings for assurance.
As the story unfolds, both Sadik and Minal wake up from their dreams and realise what they had as dream seems to be real with the presence of the rings and the heart beat experience. They dwell themselves to finding out the reality of their actions which cost Minal to jilt her long time relationship and Sadik, as well, rejects Hafsat blatantly. Both their parents and close associates perceive their dreams as devilish act and a mystery to which they never agreed upon. The saga continues as Sadik and Minal beseech their hearts beat in order to communicate.
One reason why one cannot reject a movie like is the idea of bringing new faces in the Kannywood. The selection team has done a great work bringing them on board as their characterization yield absolutely outstanding results. Viewers have been so tired of seeing the same faces for the last fifteen years or so. Such revolutionary act is a major achievement in the industry even though there is minimal glaring significance of unprofessionality in some of their actions.
Again, viewing Kannywood series online, or YouTube as the only major is alas a digital revolutionary achievement for the movie industry which has now coupled with the reality of the new strategies to fight off piracy. This will abscond the cost of reproducing CDs for the detriment of piracy which has done thorn of damages to many producers....
In terms of grammar of the subtitile, the production company has done absolutely good work but some enormous errors which I couldn't turn a blind eye are highlighted here. "Your self" and "what ever" are repeatedly written as two words instead of one word. "Sold" is repeatedly written in places where it should be in present tense. Tense error: "you should have give me reward"; and concord error: "I were sleeping", etc. The subtitle has absolutely mangled grammar elementary basics. Just like any other subtitle, editing and proofreading would have polished the work far better.
This is one of my best dialogues which could loosely be translated as:
The relationship between my heart and yours is the same with that of the eyes; they blink together, cry together but cannot see each other.
To be continued...
